Reshape the Future of Energy. With Us.

At Skellium, we’re not just building better batteries — we’re redefining what’s possible for electric mobility. Based in Aachen and backed by the EXIST Research Transfer programme, we’ve developed a breakthrough manufacturing process for lithium-metal anodes that makes next-generation solid-state batteries safer, more efficient, and ready for scale. Think: EVs with 1,000+ km range. That’s the world we’re building.

We’re a small, ambitious team at the very beginning of something big — and we’re looking for a Master’s student who wants to be part of it.

Master’s Thesis | Market & Competitor Analysis — Lithium-Metal Anodes

Your Mission

You will lead a comprehensive market and competitor analysis for lithium-metal anode technology. This means independently mapping the competitive landscape, developing your own evaluation framework for key players, and translating your findings into sharp, compelling presentations. You won’t just be crunching numbers in the background — your work will directly inform Skellium’s strategic direction.

What You’ll Work On

Market Analysis

  • Map the full landscape of potential application fields for lithium-metal anodes
  • Prioritise these fields based on their strategic relevance for Skellium
  • Develop a market potential assessment for the most promising segments

Competitor Analysis

  • Independently identify and research relevant competitors in the lithium-metal anode space
  • Define and apply your own evaluation criteria to assess the competitive field
  • Create clear, visually compelling comparative presentations — we encourage you to experiment with formats and bring your own creative ideas

Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering programme (Industrial Engineering preferred) at a top European university
  • Solid understanding of the battery market and its key dynamics
  • Structured and self-driven — you take ownership and follow through
  • Curious about complex problems and energised by the idea of working at the frontier of deep tech
  • A team player who communicates openly and contributes to a collaborative culture
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

What You Get
